Phone verification for account login

Would it be possible to add alternative methods to a cellphone text to verify an account?

I am locked out of my account and can't do the verification process because I'm on landline phone only.

Outlook uses a phone call system where an automated voice asks if the phone owner can press the "#" on his phone, doing so validates the account. I'm not a big fan of it... but its better than not being able to complete the verification at all.

    My husband is having this problem, too. Every time he signs up, he's greeted with this message and it's starting to get annoying.

    Yeah me too is there should be more methods to verify a user's account; not all users have phones.

    Same happened to me. This is why they should remove the phone verification and at least leave the email, because it’s getting lots of people annoyed, then people will hate discord.

    me too keeps saying something out of the ordinary is going on but it also says my phone # is invalid no matter how many times i try

    I am unable to create a Discord account because it asks for Phone Verification during the sign-up process.  Reality check: This is just a chat service, it does not need to be locked down like an online banking site.  I do not trust Discord enough to give them unnecessary personal information, and will be finding a different way to communicate with my friends.

    Hey discord team, I’ve been recently locked out of my account and I’m trying to use my phone number to verify, that it is, indeed me. It however says I’ve been using it on another account recently, this is true but I don’t have any wrong intentions and I hope you could fix this.

    I am currently locked out of this account I am on now on the Discord App… But I have luckily managed to login on the website here! So my account is still active luckily (Unlike my previous account which was removed for absolutely no reason at all last year ffs😣). The only problem is that I really need to access this account on the app, but like some of you here, there has APPARENTLY been something out of the ordinary going on on my account apparently… Which is completely untrue!! It is asking me for a mobile number, but I don’t believe I ever entered one before I lost access to my account..? How do you enter your phone number onto Discord? As I believe that if I can enter it I should be able to then regain access to my account… Hopefully…

    I have VOIP and i will never take a tracked SIM card related line just to pleasure some app. It is none of Discord business to judge which kind of phone anyone use. This is abject.

    smh wtf? I accidentally removed my phone-number and now it's saying I need verification but I got grounded recently and I need my mom's phone when she's in the bathroom.
