Make user able to change the idle timeout so if someone goes idle, their status will change from online to idle after a certain time that the user has set
Hiya,
So a couple of my friends go idle for a while yet their discord status is still stated as "online".
I'd like to have an option where the user does as said in the title of this post to be more certain of when someone is not at their computer/not currently being active on the discord application.
All i'm asking is to have an option to just be able to set the time where once the user goes away from their computer or is not using the discord application, the status will change from "online" to "idle" after a certain set time that the user sets.
Apologies for the repetition.
Thank you all.

I would like to see that very much too. I've been waiting for someone to ask if that's an option for a while now. If this does end up being a thing, thank you very much. I personally think it would be better if gobaly everyone would have the same timeout but just very shortened, to 3-5 minutes rather than around 10. Many times it has happened for me to go somewhere and comeback while im still online and people kept messaging me. A lot of times my friends would go idle and i wouldn't even know until like 5-10minutes after. Doesn't sound like a big deal but in the moment it is very much frustrating at times. I just wanted to support this post. So if it does appear in any of the new updates i appreciate it greately!
Hope all are good!2 -
Indeed, I agree that we sometimes need much shorter intervals being idle and back, thus better if we have the edit chance to set it to a shorter time to avoid misleading others anyway.

How is this not a thing? It seems so obvious! I've been away from my computer for over half an hour, and I come back to find it still saying "online"???

I wish that they'd implement this but I feel like they'd think is it not necessary.
I just have that gut feel. But idk, I would really be satisfied if they went through with this.1 -
That would be very useful, especially if you can turn the feature on and off.

I don't understand why this timer function is still not there. I am really need it.
Or I don't understand why there is an "Idle" status, because there are too few people that will actually use it manually.

Yes please! This would be so good to have. The 10 minute idle thing bothers me alot.
