"Disabled" channel state option

I have a use case for being able to simply check a box for each channel that would disable the channel temporarily from view from all but server admin roles (or other roles that allow for this.)

While I think something similar can be accomplished by manipulating roles, I would like the content in the channel to stay the same but just be able to make the channel not seen by others while cleaning up and doing maintenance and rearranging things.

    Maybe add an archive channel option? And add a permission in roles for users which can see archived channel? And no one (not even the owner) is able to send messages while the channel is archived?
