HWID Ban

Hello,

Sorry for my english i'm french.

I propose that discord set up the server ban system by HWID (Ban machine) and not by IP.

I am staff on a lot of servers exceeding 10/20,000 members and it becomes tiring to hunt for banned double accounts. Especially when the people concerned have been banned for pedophiliac or propaganda or even for any reason of banishment.

    If a person gets banned from your server due to things like propaganda/pedophilia, it should be reported to discord so discord staff can appropriately handle the situation. It’s not really necessary to HWID server ban a person if they commit a severe act like that because those reasons for banishment on your server coincide with discord’s ToS. If they break ToS they should be removed off of the discord platform in total, not just your server.

    Even still, there are situations where someone gets banned from a server and then makes alts with VPNs to rejoin. Im getting ready to ban someone for the fifth time because of this, and it's a genuine pain.

    That would be nice, but it is not possible for the following reasons:
    1) Discord is a web-based application (the "desktop app" is basically the website compiled for Win/Linux/MacOS using ElectronJS) and thus can't access hardware ID
    2) Circumventing Hardware ID Bans would be even easier, you would just need to start a new VM with VirtualBox, while in Discord currently you can't create accounts if you are using a proxy-VPN or TOR.
