Accounts

So as a child of strict parents, I often have to delete apps on my phone and as a result, I tend to lose a lot of accounts and such. My server's ownership belongs to another account of mine, and I was locked out as I forgot the password to the email I had used for that. I had to verify my location and to do that, I needed access to my email, which I couldn't access (obviously). My other account I lost because I had enabled 2FA on it (very stupid of me). I had enabled it because of news that some group was going to try to hack into everyone's accounts in July of last year, and I never disabled it afterwards. Now in October, I had my phone taken away, and it was reset. My authenticator app got wiped and my backup codes were all on my phone. So that is two accounts I have been unable to recover, and both are extremely important, as one contains several servers I own and the other has all my friends, some of which I can't find again now. I approached discord about my first account that I couldn't very my location for and was told that they couldn't help me, so I knew that asking about the other one would be pointless.

So a warning to others: DON'T USE 2FA UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY, COMPLETELY, 100% SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR BACKUP CODES

A message to Discord: Please add a function where you can add a backup email or phone number so that if anything like that happens to others, they have a way of recovering the accounts. Losing accounts, especially really important ones is very upsetting and I cannot describe how much it makes me sad that I can't talk to several of my old friends anymore. Please, please, please learn from my mistakes
