How exactly does this violate ToS?
Apparently reporting a flatout pedophile to Discord counts as a violation to the Discord ToS itself?
Here's the story: I was told about a man on Discord (let's name him Joe), who had previously preyed on a friend of mine who was underage while he was in his 20s. I wanted to investigate it, see if he was still like this, and if he was, I thought I could maybe catch him in the act and report it to Discord. Oh, how naive I was. So, I changed my discord username to appear like a teenage girl of sorts using Discord, and try to bait him. I shared a server with Joe, so I simply pinged the NSFW role in the server in an attempt to get his attention. Within 20 minutes or so, he already appeared in my DMs. After less than an hour of chatting, he had already offered to send him "pics," I oblige, and he sends me a picture of his erect penis. The problem is, I had already previously clarified my age to be "15 turning 16." I am 18 in real life, this will be important later.
I am a little distraught by how easy it was to get it. Right after, I change my name back to what it was previously and I tell him off. After deleting the picture, Joe goes on and immediately apologizes, telling my how much of a terrible person he was and whatnot. Thing is, he's given the same apologies in the past, as told to me by my friend, so it's likely to be just some schpiel he'd give out in an attempt to get some mercy out of me. I then report the situation to the Discord trust and safety team and leave it up for them to decide. Because, that's what you're supposed to do when you encounter a pedophile, right? I was unable to get the message link to where he sends the picture because he soon deleted it, though I do have screenshots to the entire conversation if you would like to see.
So, 6 days later, I'm on Discord, and I am immediately logged out. Trying to sign back in, I am notified that my account has been suspended, I check my email to find that I have been suspended for "NSFW content as a minor." To my shock, I wonder, "how come?" Then, I remember this situation, and am reasonably concerned. I have years of content in that account that I may never get back. So, I reply to the email, telling the Discord moderator that I was not a minor when I did such an act, and even showed them ID to provide some kind of evidence. I am given a reply from a separate moderator a little while later requesting that I provide more evidence. (How could I even provide that evidence if my account was suspended?) I send them even more emails, and the days go by, and I am met with no response.
After seeing the days go by without a response, I ask my friends for advice and they tell me to take it to twitter. So, I make a post pinging them on Twitter asking for a response to my repeated emails. Low and behold, 10 hours later I get a response basically telling me that there's no chance I'm getting my account back because I violated Discord ToS. I replied back asking for an explanation of some sort as to how that constituted as "NSFW content as a minor" when I'm not even a minor? Now, seeing as there's no hope of getting a response through them by just emails. I decided to take it to here.
Why am I getting punished for attempting to uphold your own ToS?

Well in reality you probably told that pedo that you were under18 and they saw that
But still that they shouldn't have done that to your account, usually when i go scam/pedo/whatever baiting i go and use a burner account with fake details like 10-15 yrs old, fake ass username, pfp of someone doing a selfie(sm definitely needs to patch that bc those pics r on google images) and join what i need to bait out that exact scam so then i dont have to worry bout me losing my main account0 -
Btw, my account is still getting charged for its Nitro Subscription.

This is like writing to the Vatican to tell them that one of their priests is hitting on children. You should be talking first to the police. He is a potentially dangerous individual and now he will be hiding his activity at least until the heat has cooled off.

Because the way you wrote this screams entrapment.
Which is illegal.
Move on, you screwed yourself.
I imagine we are missing the part of the story where the ping was some sort of solicitation or similar.0
