(SUGGESTION) Discord server sub-categories
Background info
A friend and I manage an RP type of server, and we, along with other people, need character files for their characters. So, we created a category called just called "Characters" with the different selections. In it, we added all the servers for each of them. However, the channels all mixed up in one category is a mess, as we want to tell who's character belongs to who. We have separated their characters into different categories listed as "___'s characters", but that adds space that is unneeded. It's also frankly annoying to close each and everyone's character file constantly.
So, here is what I propose.
Following how I operate my friend's server, if we want to add a character, I would click on the category "Characters", which would show subcategories that are called "___'s character." From there, I would click the according name that I assign to my character file, and all the characters (text channels) that I have created would appear. Same thing goes for the other people who want to add something in their own category as well.
To me this is helpful. I can close a giant category overall, without having to close the separate ones that I currently have. This also helps me pinpoint which topic out of the category I click on is the one I want to chat in/ add info on, so that is also another perk.
To do this "Sub-category" action, maybe I can create one category, then create another in it. In the new one I can first add all the text channels/ voice channels I want, then close that category and drag it to the first category I made. If I drag and hover over the category long enough, it could offer me a blank slot I can merge it into.
I feel like this should be done on a device like a PC or laptop, because it's easier. On mobile, it would be confusing to those who don't know the ways of Discord on their phones. I've seen plenty of that during my time working with mobile people.
