Discord Age Limit Acc Deletion

If someone’s account is going to be deleted for age limits, why can’t discord just make it so you can’t log in until their supposed 13th birthday? And then after that they can use the account again? Is it because then the accounts will just pile up and it’ll take a really long while for discord to go through them and then let them work again?
