There should be an option to only show the Welcome Screen after members are granted a specific role
I'm the owner of /r/DDLC's discord. We gate all of our channels where members can speak behind them reading the rules and getting the 'Member' role. We do have a lot of channels, so the welcome screen would be a pretty useful thing to point people to the most active ones. Unfortunately, because they're all invisible to new users, it's impossible to get them to show up on the welcome screen. We could set them to read only until members have gotten themselves the Members role instead of being straight up invisible, but then the welcome screen would just be pointing people to channels they can't see in. Not very useful.
The solution here would be to make the welcome screen show after members have obtained the 'Member' role. This would be very useful for us, and I know that we're far from the only sizable server to gate our channels in this way.

I agree with this idea! I think for servers that have verification, which obviously has a lot of security benefits but hides the majority of the server in nature, this is great for them as the Welcome Screen is a good thing for new members to use and being able to customize it to our liking would be great.

You can set up strict permissions for the new member and limit them to only one specific channel.

R E G E X I think you misunderstood.
The problem with the current version of the Welcome Screen is that, should you add Channels to it that are not visible to New Members *because you have a gated system* (eg: a Captcha Bot, a "click this reaction", or whatever), then said Channels do *not* appear on the Welcome Screen, since it doesn't show Channels you *don't* have access to.
Thus, allowing an option to set the Welcome Screen to appear for New Members *after* they got a specific Role (eg: "verified", "member", etc), would help get around this issue by delaying the appearance of the Welcome Screen to until the New Member actually does have access to the listed Channels.

@TwilightZebby
Sorry, I did misunderstood. I think it would be an excellent feature.

I can't believe this still isn't a thing!
