Allow to use SMS codes instead of Auth App do to certain things

I have a problem, I've lost access to my phone and I can't reach my backup codes. Only thing I have is my phone number.
In support section as well as in 2FA settings there is written that SMS can be backup if you lost your phone and can't reach backup codes, but this option is not available. Please help and add possibility to back up password / delete 2FA (and do other things) also with SMS codes. This option is used for example by Google and there are not problems with it. Please I think it is important. Some users can't reach app or backup codes, and they must do something, but they can't because for example they forgot password, so they can't reach codes and their phone were broken. They want to remind password, but they can't because of those codes.
Please this is last hope for users to not lost their account because of loosing app or backup codes

I agree, this could be very unpleasant to user if he could not reach codes and he must do something. Maybe google like solution could be helpfull.

I agree, that can help a lot of people which do not have access to 2FA codes for ex. lost their phone, broke... (had that situation after my phone felt from mountain :c and I was using Google Auth so I couldn't synchronize it to another device like I can do it with Authy because it is connected to my cellurar number) Most of other services use that kind of verification too and so far, they do not have much problems with it (only with making sure end-user selected if they want SMS or Voice Connection) and can use it without much problem (understanding that the end-user might not know English well).

@Strapples I don't talk about login in but password recovery. I regret using 2FA on Discord.

I will remove my comment then as this ticket is far different from my situation. I know my password. 2FA works with my phone but only if I log in from a web browser. You are dealing with a total account lockout, you should contact support and use the 2FA lockout flag. They can verify your identity by email and by telephone and shut off 2FA from their end. The process can take up to three business days but at this point is your only option if you don’t have access to the phone anymore.

Strapples they can't help they said that one option is only account deleting. I am out of my mind. This feedback is my last chance but I don't know how to reach votes to make devs consider enabling possibility to use SMS 2FA too

Honestly i find the fact that you cant use the SMS 'backup' for password reset. What kind of 'backup' is that when the other 2fa options can be used for everything including password reset but the SMS 'backup' one can't be used for password reset.

I'm in a similar situation- I think, I literally cannot log into my account without it telling me its wrong. I've logged into here with the same password and everything. After it said it was wrong it sent me to a little pin that asked for a authentication code, I honestly knew nothing about it and it didn't even have a option where it can send it to you from sms. I started to panic so much but I've calmed down now. I'm trying to figure out how to get the darn code but it's no use :(
