[Suggestion] Different Server, Different Status
I'm making this post with the knowledge that Nelly made a similar request 3 years ago with 7751 upvotes. I want to revive this and add some more detail and urgency to the matter! There were a few other posts with similar concepts but I wanted to bring all of it together.
The concept is that a user may change their server status depending on what server they are in.
Why is this important?
1) Privacy - It would allow users to set social/work-related boundaries: many social media websites do not have this option and lead to people creating 'private' accounts. With something as personal and integrated as Discord, this isn't really a viable option for most users. This is especially the case if a paid feature like Discord Nitro is involved.
2) Functionality - This simple, practical feature seems like it should've already been included when more "complex" features (like 'multiple avatars' and a 'personalized profile') are already available via Discord Nitro.
How could this be done?
This should mainly be in the form of the default 'Online', 'Idle', 'Do Not Disturb' and 'Invisible' options we have available (with the green, yellow, red and blank symbols to indicate our availability), but it could reach out to 'Custom' statuses too. These options could appear in the 'Change Identity' interface or even as a right-click on a server icon. Obviously, some form of 'Reset to Default' in the settings would be helpful as well for situations where there have been too many customisations.
Who would this benefit?
Content creators, remote workers, community managers, users that are part of WAY too many servers, anyone that respects people that are hiding from their boss/ex partner/overbearing humans, server moderators, those that are easily overwhelmed, government spies... TLDR: Many (if not all) Discord users.
What's it to you?
In the past, I used to set my status to 'Invisible' occasionally to "hide" from my responsibilities as a (small) content creator, so I could enjoy games with my close friends without unnecessary attention/interruption. Nowadays, in light of the covid-19 pandemic (as WingedBeef had pointed out), my personal, work and online lives have merged into one big amalgamation that's hard to manage. Be it through necessity, obligation or choice, I'm part of some communities that I don't really want seeing my daily activities. This has lead me to always be 'Invisible', which is not only false but also detrimental to my experience on Discord as it limits me from using certain features.

I think this is a very good idea! I would definitely use this feature.

What a coincidence, my first time at feedback.discord.com ever and 5 hours ago someone submitted it before me.
