Bot permissions

I'm fairly new to Discord, so maybe I'm just missing something.

I recently added a Zapier integration, which asked for a set of permissions and I was able to uncheck the ones I didn't want. Afterwards, it made a Zapier role with the selected permissions which I could change if I wanted. Everything good so far.

The issue is that on the Integrations page it says that Zapier has tons more permissions than what I gave it access to and it looks like I have no way of changing them. I tested revoking permissions on the role to see if it affects the bot. It didn't. Which means it is not using those permissions at all, but rather using the permissions that I'm seeing on the Integrations page.

Is this supposed to be how it works? Is there anyway for me to actually limit the permissions for the bot?
