[Implemented] [Idea] Server Feature: Custom Flair For Users within a Role

UPDATE 9/16/21: Discord has rolled out an feature called Role Icons, which places a custom icon next your username in chat if you have a specific role. Hovering over the icon shows the role name associated. This solves the concerns this idea raised. Though it wasn't exactly what I suggested, I love their idea nonetheless! IDEA: FLAIR FOR USERS WITHIN SERVER ROLE

On servers, where you could have many different roles with many different colors. Some servers use so many colors, it can be difficult to determine what color means what role, even if it's described or hoisted on the online list hierarchy. 

This idea has been suggested only twice before, but I've decided to post a more in-depth post with uses for this idea they didn't cover. 

The idea is, on community servers only, users in specific roles would have access to a flair next their username. These flairs could look visually similar to the tag given to bots for users to know the difference between a user and a bot. If Discord were to go through with this idea, I'd imagine you could possibly change up the designs to avoid confusion. 

On subreddits, you can add a flair to a specific group of people. This is notably used by moderators or admins of a specific subreddit to allow users to distinguish them from the rest of crowd. As certain Discord servers can be extremely fast paced environments, it would be important for members to understand who they're speaking to without having to go through all the roles a certain person possess.

With this idea, looking at this from a server owner viewpoint: you would be able to have your staff members have a color of their choice and still be recognized as having authority on the server. Flairs, like subreddits, could have ability to choose a custom color. And to avoid abuse, Discord could limit the words "BOT", "✓ BOT", and "SYSTEM".

Not every server is designed in the same way and particular ones may prefer to give them creative names to match with the overall theme of the server. Some things I've seen in staff roles are named: "<Name> (Mod)". While that does inform you, you're still tasked with having to look at the roles. Some other servers require all their staff to change their nicknames to include their role title. An example of this is: [Mod] Cicero 

I just feel like there is a better way to do this. Lots of users who migrated to Discord come from other platforms such as Reddit and TeamSpeak, where flairs (or tags) are common to see among staff of a server or subreddit.

    This is a great idea! Especially for the newer members in servers who are unfamilair with the many different systems each community server has- with them being able to easily identify staff members in chat, it will make everything a lot easier. Would love to see this implemented!

    I really like this idea! It would make the servers neater and organized while people also realizing there is an admin/moderator in their presence!
