Belated Threads

I love the idea of Threads to keep a channel clear of off-topic discussion, but I find the impromptu nature of said off-topic discussions usually means you wont realize which off-hand comment might burst into a conversation until you are 10, 20, or more comments in.

 

I would love to have a means to select off-topic posts in a channel and move/consolidate them into a Thread after the fact.

  I am very much in support of this suggestion. I've described the same issue from the perspective of our server in this ticket so pls feel free to upvote too.

  It's essentially impossible to predict which convo will "spin out of control" and hence could require a thread - adding messages to convos by simple "select" -> "move to thread" would solve this easily.

  I had the same exact thought! Please make this a thing. If i could drag and drop into a thread, things would be easier to find and easier to keep organized.
