Recovering Deleted Channels

justmeme!
I’m staff in multiple servers and i think we should have a 1 week cooldown till a channel gets completely deleted. For the first part of deletion, the channel could be removed and be recovered later if needed with all the messages intact. I’ve been on Discord for nearly two years now and its become my primary social media, i love Discord. i think enabling that would be really helpful to multiple communities

    There is a few problems with this in the first place.

    • If a server wants to delete something quickly they cannot, for example a server of which is causing them to loose a lot of members.
    • Keeping the messages in-tact would make a slow response time on the site as the SQL database would not be able to handle that much data being moved at once as their SQL database (as I would assume) already has quite a bit of data coming in and out all the time. If they were to move all the data from the current database of which is for channels and messages to another database, then the staff would have to work for a long time to move all the data of which is a slow and not-very-easy job.

    In conclusion,
    This idea would be great if it was feasible, but it is not as there are many problems with it. Quite a lot more than I wrote down.
