Copy & Pasting Channels

The ability to copy & paste channels/categories would be a really useful tool to have. This is  because I own a few servers and always have the same(ish) layout, just with a few changes depending what the server is for.

How would it work?

You can right click in a server and click on a copy button. After that, you can go to another server and paste it. Resulting in a channel that has the same name.

What about people stealing my server layout?

I’ve thought of 2 solutions for this; The first is a new type of permission in a role, where it has the ability to copy channels, and anyone with manage channels permission can paste the channels. The second solution is by having leaving it so only those with administrator are able to copy and paste them. We could also have a new event in the audit log, where when someone copy’s a channel it shows.

Why though? Don’t we already have server templates…

You’re right, we do have templates. However, templates are made people to have as a backup of their current server. For servers with thousands of members, you’re not going to be able to get each and every one of them to join a new server with a layout. We need a way to copy channels from server to server.
