permission Syncing: what changed?

tl;dr/simplistic user story version: "As a server admin, I want to know what's going to be changed when I use the permission synchronization feature, so I don't risk accidentally reverting a change I forgot about"

The search feature on this feedback site sucks, so I have no idea if this has already been proposed... which would also explain why there are so many redundant posts about syncing permissions...

but...

can we please get some way of knowing, before and preferably after, what permissions will be/were changed by the "Permission sync" feature? There's basically no version/configuration control going on here, so if one admin sets something in channel, then someone else goes to sync the channel before making their own change, they won't realize they reverted the other change. It gives no indication other than manually scanning the increasingly large permission list.
