Email Exposed

A Discord user somehow managed to view what email I use on my Discord account. I do not know how it happened. I did not tell what my email is to anyone. I did not click any suspicious links, in fact I did not click any links at all recently. The only interaction I had with the user was through Text messages and through Discord's friends system. I sent them a friend request and they accepted. Could that be how they obtained it? Does that mean sending friend requests is no longer a safe feature? What should I do next? The email name itself contains personal information.
