Account hacked 2 weeks ago, not one word from Discord Support
My main (Nitro) account was hacked two weeks ago, and though I have tried various methods of contacting your customer service, I have not heard from you. I have requested that some of my 'owned' communities be moved over to co-admins I trust, and they are still telling me they have no power to do anything, much less remove my hacked account to have control of the community again.
A few of my friends have been hacked as well, one was charged hundreds of dollars at a time over multiple days and had to cancel their CC. They (also a nitro account) have had the same luck I have trying to get anyone to do something or move ownership of their accounts to a trusted co-admin.
A friend who was hacked, also had their 2fa activated.
He said it did nothing to stop his account from being hacked because of the way the hack works. Once you click the link, when it logged you out, if you never logged in again before reinstalling discord, you would be fine. But the second you log in, it sends them your account 'token' and with the token, they can log in with any browser without needing any other info.
In my case, they took control that moment and I could tell they were typing to my friends, and them responding but I could do nothing to stop it. I did uninstall and restart before trying to relog in again, but we also found out that whatever virus came with the link would auto reinstall with discord and infect it again. In my case, we could not get it to stop reinstalling and had to wipe the drive.
I'm curious why Discord doesn't send an email where you either have to click a link or input a code to change such important account information like a password/email, or to get access and use PayPal/credit card information unless the charge is coming directly from Discord itself? Almost every account I have does this, to add an extra layer of protection to their accounts and apps.
While I doubt posting here will actually get someone from Discord to contact me about this situation... I've exhausted all other ways of contacting you, so why not try one more. I'm not sure what the situation on your end is, but Discords Customer Services needs to improve because however it's being handled at the moment does not seem to be working.
