so are we required to get non-VoIP number in order be able to log back in our old accounts?
I use Google Voice since 2019, and had no problems in switching my phone number over Google Voice. Now Discord locked me out, and I cannot verify my account with VoIP number. Does it mean I need to get a phone number that belongs to some GSM company in order be able to verify my account and use the service? What nonsense is this? Will Discord pay for expenses here?

same issue signed up but cant verify

Managed to get back in using a family member's phone but this is a seriously screwed issue. How is it that you can lose your entire account just for having the wrong phone plan? There's literally no other way to verify, I have 2FA enabled and it was completely useless here.

Just use a friend or a family member's phone number, it isn't that hard.

Krish Not feasible if your friends and families have their own discord accounts and might have the same issue one day. All of my siblings have it, having to call your parents to log you in on some website like it's 2005 and you're a 9 year old trying to make a Neopets account is the walk of shame.
Also, you wouldn't have to rely on family and friends if this wasn't an issue in the first place.-1 -
Novern, I'm not sure how to go about this in that case, you can probably contact Discord by creating a ticket and explain the issue to them, and see if they can help you. 🤷

They couldn't, which is why I'm here complaining about with everyone else who had the same issue. Why are you so desperate to insist that there's not a problem here?

As others mentioned, all my family use discord, and there is not a single unused phone number that I can use for verification. This is a loose system where it depends on non-VoIP number. It is 21st century, and they are asking not to use internet numbers. Discord support didn't do anything, there were like our system works correctly, it is your problem. <insert surprised pikachu face here>. Best support ever.

Same issue here. I've used Google Voice for 12 years now, it's my phone! Can't they find a better way to eliminate spam?
