Discord Phone Verification Impossible without paying 600$ a year (Locked out of Account because of this)

My friend is currently locked out of his account due to an error from discord's side, they told him he uses a vpn, but he doesn't, now he is permenantly locked out of his discord account due to a phone verification system, he even has two-factor auth activated, which this one doesn't requires a phone.
I even borrowed him my phone, but as he doesn't want to be permenantly relying on me, he removed the phone when we were able to activate him, but that immediatly got him locked out again.

Meanwhile, trying to get support from discord on twitter, he had to unlock his twitter account, which had the same phone verification problem, which he got fixed overnight.

And now, in his latest bout with discord's support, they asked him to create a new thread for something that has already been asked multiple times in this very thing, which you can see here
