Account wrongly disabled
Hi,
a little over a week ago my Discord account suddenly got falsely deactivited saying my account is a spam account. This happened before last October. Back then Trust & Safety was answering the appeal within 4 hours saying that: "It looks like you got caught in our spam filter. After further review of your situation, I've gone ahead and lifted the suspension on your Discord account at this time."
But they didn't elaborate further what actually was the cause. Since they didn't say what caused it I was worried it will happen again and it did. This time Trust & Safety hasn't replied in over a week. Is the backlog really this big that is takes this long? Or, what I worry, is the system just automatically ignoring all appeals from "repeating" offenders, even though both cases were a false spam detection for reasons I don't know. I did get a mail that the appeal was received but nothing further.
Why are things run this way with every big internet company? These systems always kick people off for inexplicable reasons and then appeals are automatically denied or you won't hear anything back at all. Is there even an interest into investigating these false positives? Like I have no idea what happened here. I was only in one server and all the possible reasons listed in that deactivation mail, sending massive amounts of messages, joining a lot of servers quickly, botting, automating account, etc. all don't apply.
So what now? Keep sending in appeals? Or will the system start blocking every new request at some point? The strangest part is that in the first few days there wasn't even an appeal category listed on the support site so I picked some general category. Then a couple days later the appeal category was back again so I sent a proper appeal then. All in all I sent in 4 tickets: The 1st I sent in was cause friends suddenly told me on Discord that my messages all got hidden citing suspected spam. So I inquired about that. Then I got logged out and received the TOS violation email. Tried so send in an appeal like back in October but the category wasn't there and sent a general inquiry. Then I thought maybe I can just reply to the old ticket so they can see it happened before but it created a new ticket. And a few days ago the proper appeal category was back and sent an appeal with the proper category.
I am at my wits end here...
