Petition - Fix the spam filter in Discord - Stop banning innocent people
Since nobody at Discord seems to care about the messed up spam filter that is disabling accounts randomly, and adding the "spammer" flag to users, there is a petition hoping to change that. If we get enough signatures, they might actually listen. It is not sustainable just to ban people left and right, and the only way to get your account re-enabled is to contact support. And if you are lucky, you will get a reply within one month, before the account is removed permamently.

Any feedback on the content of the petition would also be appreciated.

It's well written but doesn't address that the currently disabled accounts need to be reinstated. How to get the petition to the people. We don't really know how many are affected. Could be only a thousand and we wouldn't be the type of minority they usually care about. It would be funny though if people make actual spam accounts to spread the link through discord.

Iksbym Well it does say "It would also be good if the user could re-enable his or her account for example through some automated process on the website, such as resetting the password." I mean they can't just re-enable every single banned account, we have to assume that the vast majority of those are indeed spammers. I noticed that there are many on Discord reporting the same thing, but for some reason anything I post in the Discord reddit gets automatically removed...

Cause that is the future where they want things to go. You get banned on Discord, they send a notification to Steam, you get banned on Steam. They send a notification to Paypal, you are now banned on Paypal. Creditcard companies will follow, then your actual bank account. You can keep your phone though so they know where you are.

Well I just got an email saying that account was disabled for suspicious activity and click here to reset password. So a reactivation email. Looked like it happened automatically and not done by someone replying to the tickets.

Agreed,
It is not only people getting banned for spamming I got banned for "raiding" (false ban of course)
Maybe a human should review it instead of bots!
