Verification is horribly bugged
Every step I took was flagged as suspicious, so account verification is bugged and needs a complete makeover. I sent the following info via email to support and they said to post it here so it would get to the right people. Within 30 seconds, while trying to create a Discord account, Discord decided that my activity was suspicious and made me do 7 or 8 verifications before I could finish! Here is what I told support:
"I had already rebooted my modem and my router because I encountered the "rate limit error". So I STARTED with a fresh IP provided created when my modem rebooted. After my successful account wipe, I go to create a brand new account, using my original email, which you said I could do once the process was finished. Then I am suddenly detected as having suspicious behavior in the same 30 or 40 seconds of submitting my info on the SAME system and on the same browser. I was then told there was suspicious behavior WITHIN THE SAME MINUTE of having JUST done another verification. That's insane! I even had to do an email verification (twice within the same minute, mind you) before I was PERMITTED to do a phone verification. A REQUIRED phone verification at that. Talk about bureaucracy!"
The whole reason I had to have them wipe my account was because it was literally impossible to pass verification as it just kept going to yet another verification, and another, and another, and on and on. I could not access my account that I had created and used since back in 2013, so I lost all of my contacts and my game connections. Unforgivable.

I have had similar problems with verification. I have more than one account (because I have more than one use case scenario), and until recently the hoops Discord would make me jump through were unbelievable. The typical thing is that at some point it would REQUIRE me to add a phone number, which I doubt is even legal in the EU. I had to go buy a prepaid just to get into my second account at some point. Just ridiculous.
