Fixing 2FA
There are people that have used Google Authenticator and have lost their two factor code and now they can't access their discord account (Unfortunately, I lost my account which was the main one) because of their phone being destroyed and them not being able to take out the data properly.
I think in the next Discord update the Discord Team should completely remove Two Factor Authentication from Discord so people can get their accounts back. Then when the team finds a way for the users to get their lost account back if it ever happens again, they can add it back without it connected to any authentication app so the users that want to use 2FA can continue to use it.

No, Discord can't remove 2FA it's very important for the safety!
You just can create a ticket https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000029212 with the type "2FA Lockout".

Also saving your backup codes somewhere you still have access to when your phone is not around might be a good idea

That's a very great idea. One of my good friends had that happen to him too and to me as well. I regret adding 2FA to my account. If you don't have access to those codes then you are done. Nobody can help you and it sucks. I had that account for a long time and I wish to have it back one day.
