Hyperlink Markdown
Now that Discord has the feature where it warns you when clicking an unidentified link, maybe it could be used to protect people who click on a Hyperlink.
A hyperlink is obviously like this, and it would be cool if we could embed a link in text so we don't have to clutter our posts with long links. Since Discord has the feature that warns you when heading towards an unidentified URL or domain, this could be used when people click on a hyperlink for security reasons.
It's been two years now, and Discord has been using Markdown for a while, so I'm quite surprised this is not in for normal member messages, considering bot embeds has it.

Bump. Bots already have this feature in regular messages (not just embeds) and it's stupid that regular users aren't able to use it.

I want this badly and I'm kinda bumped that this has not turned into a feature after many years.

I think this feature is very much needed but in addition, I feel this power needs to be enabled via a server role.
- New users have to get promoted before they are granted the privilege to "spam" embedded URLs.
- This should also not be enabled for messages from unknown users, This way we HAVE to be friends / trusted before URLs can be embedded.
- URLs that are formatted as a URL MUST NOT be able to be embedded as to look like a legit URL.
- EXAMPLE: https://www.google.com/search?q=cute%20kittens
The text looks like a simple google search BUT it is actually an evil prank but could have been something MUCH worse!

For click with link text, must need to pop-up messages like this, to avoid spams.

Absolutely need a simple hyperlink, especially in private servers where everything is closely controlled.

If we can add hyperlinks to comments on support.discord.com, we should 💯 be able to include hyperlinks on discord.com. This is an essential feature. Make it happen, Discord Dev!

This is the primary reason I am considering moving over to Slack.
The lack of embedded hyperlinks means that my team cannot draft emails in Discord, because many of our emails need to contain embeddded hyperlinks.
The lack of embedded hyperlinks also makes chat threads very ugly! A significant proportion of writing on the internet involves linking out to sources and other documents.
At the moment, we are forced to use a URL shortening service every time we want to include a link (otherwise, overly long links would completely obfuscate the message content).
This is quite painful.
I see that the team has recently added support for autoconversion of hyphens to bullet points on Discord. This is an improvement and shows that changes to the markdown system are possible.
Please add hyperlinks too!2 -

I'm so sorry again that we don't have a current solution for you at this time, but I like to think that anything is possible in the future.
If votes count, this one has 2152 after I added mine. And the Markdown article with a comment requesting URLs has more than 50,000. How many votes do we need for something so simple?

If I can set up my server to have a bot with permission to use an insert that does this, why on earth can't I myself do it? It doesn't even need to be a generally available default, if this is a security concern; just make it available *at all*.

This seems like a feature that should have been added in the first year without anyone having to asking for it. It is insane it hasn't been added almost 8 years after initial release when thousands of people have asked for it.

This and other markdown features have been added as a hidden “experiment” for a little while now. Hopefully coming soon?

Super annoying to have hideous links everywhere, I'd love love love this feature.
It could be toggled by server admins or a nitro only feature if spam is an issue.1 -
Bump, please support hyperlinked text. It's hard to take Nitro seriously without this basic feature.

Refresh Desktop Client with CRTL + R if it doesn't appear to work immediately. Confirmed also working on my (old) version of Android Discord
Doesn't appear to work in profiles/bios, or with emails. Looks like anything starting with `https://` that contains no spaces will work.. doesn't even need a tld. Worked in all of the servers I tested in - despite the disclaimer that its not on all servers (YMMV)
So glad this is finally a feature we can use
