Even more compact mode
Currently, the 'compact' mode is still not very compact. There's a ton of whitespace between messages from different chatters compared to other chat systems and clients. Please add an 'even more compact' mode that removes the horizontal line and whitespace between messages from different chatters. Thanks!

And add the ability to close inline images so they don't take up 10 lines

Like a Twitch chat or something?

Twitch, Slack, irccloud, and just about anything else I can think of that Twitch has displaced offers a high-density chat mode.
I did a quick hack job using the web version to illustrate what I'm talking about. It's not the prettiest, but it gets the point across about density of lines. My hacked up CSS version is on the left, the real client is on the right. Notice how many more lines of chat take up less space...

Yes - FFS. Skype has this problem too ... too much whitespace. ... maybe some people like to buy a separate monitor for each chat window but I'd rather it was the size of a post-it in the corner of my screen when I was working ;)
