Option to not automatically focus the typing field
I use Discord mostly for reading, typing in them is only needed very rarely. It is inconvenient to forcefully trap keyboard events to the chat box. Every time i change channel the chat gets focus, and that's terrible.
You could say i'm "power user" on a 2 monitor desktop PC. I play games on one and discord on other. Sometimes the 2 get mixed and i start typing my game keys in the chat.
I mean, why are you forcing me to click screen every time i change channel, to disable focus? That's 2 clicks instead of 1 :p

this is actually a lot worse on windows tablets, or laptops with a tablet mode.
if i have my physical keyboard folded away windows will open the touch keyboard every time i change the channel because it detects an in-focus text entry box, and this keyboard opening shifts all messages up as discord adjusts to a reduced resolution to make space for the keyboard.

Please look into this? The report was 3 years ago and the "bug" still exists...

Would just like to add my voice to the crowd here. I note there are a few other threads asking for the same feature. My experience is the same as one of the replies here - I have a Surface tablet, and immediately on switching from channel to channel, the focus on the text field pops up the on screen keyboard, obscuring half of the channel before I've had a chance to read anything. I would love an option to only put focus on the etc field on click - as it is this makes Discord both on web and app unusable on a touchscreen Windows device.
