Pinned messages actually pinned to chat
What about being able to pin messages to the chat window itself. Instead of just going to the pinned tab, the most recently pinned post could appear in full at the top (or bottom) of the chat window itself. Similar to what twitch does with top cheerer and the like. Could be handy for like a welcome message "rule" or a specific goal for the day in a video game or whatnot.

I really LOVE this idea! Maybe it could be a toggle-able feature so you don't have an image that is only semi important right in their face. Discord please add this!

Pinned messages need better visibility and relevancy in general. If something is that important, it should be always visible in the channel to which its been pinned.

Reviving this because it needs to be a thing. Next to no one reads pinned messages because they're so far out of the way that they don't even know they exist. It would be much nicer to have them pinned to the top of a channel. Not every pinned message needs to be shown, or even the entire contents of the message. Just the last one, with a link, and maybe under it a count of the total pinned messages. The channel topic kind of serves this purpose, but it's not long enough, nor is it big enough to get noticed. And while people could mark them as read, they should stay there, until un-pinnned or a new pinned message is made. The size could be scaled to say 10 or 5% of a window, that way it is still constantly visible, but scales to people's windows.
Cause really, what's the point of having pinned messages right now? They're actually worthless if they're not visible.1
