This is so true and really annoying for streamers. Sure I know how to lower the game volume to get the voices 6db over the game but then another user joins and no one can hear him it's really annoying

If it's going to be a terrible example of a compressor, like the hissing nightmare in VoiceMeeter, don't bother.
Currently, Discord's noise filter is garbage and Krisp is no better. Opus is fantastic, so the base is good but the filters are not.

I use VSTHost as an insert in VoiceMeeter for my microphones, so my voice is processed with professional VST gate/compressor/filter/limiter before it goes to Discord or anywhere else.
I just want the same possibility for incoming communications, in case I choose to record, or, as suggested, for general use when people don't know how to set their inputs/outputs.

Now, I understand that implementing a whole VST Host would be unpractical (or would it?) but using algorithms from proper plugins shouldn't be. This is not new in the audio world, andlLicensing from an audio company is a very real option.

This is a must have, as voice chatting with many people with different mic settings and volumes takes time from everyone to set their volume to a good level, and you might have to keep changing it during the chat too as things can suddenly get very loud or quiet too.

I did this myself by downloading a virtual mixer and running Discord's audio through Ableton just to add a compressor and a gate to it. Only problem with that was that it took a lotta CPU just to run all that stuff so I couldn't actually play any videogames at the same time it. Please Discord team, if you're reading this, integrate this into Discord so I don't have to constantly juggle all my friends' user volumes please for the love of god!

How is this still not a thing but Krisp is? Krisp is useless to begin with, and doesn't even do what it says. Compressors have been around for ages. At least add support for VST effects if you wanna be lazy, we'll do the compression ourselves.

Vent had tons of per user DSP available. Pitch Shifting for annoying voices, compressors for people who cannot have mic etiquette, limiters for particularly bad offenders and music bot channels, EQs, De-essers, etc. It is a bit mind blowing that this is not a feature in Discord.

It's another month of killing ear users. Discord how much do we have to ask for this? Do I need to stop paying until this happens? Am I rewarding your continued inaction?

How has this not even been acknowledged yet?

I also am disappointed this isn't implemented.  This is like the best reason to buy a GoXLR (fullsize) because it has this built in (but it's not adjustable), but since the entire office was laid off, I wouldn't recommend buying it anymore.  PLEASE Discord PLEASE implement a compressor!

Sure! Adding a compressor to your Voice & Video Settings can really enhance your sound quality during calls and recordings, giving your voice a smoother and more professional tone. And don't forget to check out our selection of hammocks and hanging chairs! They're perfect for relaxing outdoors or creating a cozy corner indoors.

/Bump How is this still not a feature. Vent had it ~20 years ago. Basic DSP chains per user. There are free options for code out there, just implement them.
