Sending/Editing messages not processed in browser

I often use Discord in browser instead of the app (app's slower on linux, but that's not the point here). Seemingly randomly, it'll go from working just fine to not processing anything until I refresh the page. If I send a message, the message is dimmed (as though trying to send it without internet). If I edit a message, the edit it not shown. If I go into a channel I haven't been in recently, it won't load.

I've not found a specific cause, but it sure is annoying to edit a long message only for the edits to disappear when I hit enter.
