Group Request System

Hey, lately alot of my friends have been hacked and invited me into undesired group chats.

This got me wondering, is it possible to make a system that worked like the friend request system but for groups? I'm sure alot of people out there want the same thing but don't know how to request it. It'd be useful and would make alot of people thankful.
