Let Me Turn Off "Commands Matching..."
So, I keep Legacy Chat Input on. I would love to have the character limit counter and markdown previews on - heck, they were part of the chat input when it was just chat input, back in 2020. But then Discord introduced a "helper" dialogue box for commands, that takes up a ton of screen real estate, even when you're just using a simple /me command. I found this so intolerable that I turned off the enhanced chat features, both in December 2020, and moved to Legacy Chat Input a few months ago when they changed it again.
Unfortunately, with the new Slash Commands, I am forced to once again look at Discord's chat input as it is currently intended, and I am once again smacked in the face with this monstrosity.
Please. Discord, let me use any vaguely modern chat features without having to look at this. I don't care about commands. I just want to hide this one window but I hate it so much that I'm willing to put up with IRC-level chat input just so I don't have to look at it. It makes Discord look like a Fisher Price Toy. I just want the OPTION.

If you are on PC and right-click your textbox a drop-down should pop up. Click on suggestions and disable slash commands.

That looks like it should solve my problem but it still causes the slash commands list to pop up? I'm deep into the acceptance phase of this problem but it looks like this checkbox doesn't do anything. It's also very poorly signposted

It does something--and that was to disable the helper commands (shrug, nick, tableflip, and others), aka the built-in commands. But slash commands are part of Discord bots now, so it's probably better for you to keep a few bots since having so many will make the slash commands pop up wide open. Plus, Discord bots are moving from prefix commands ("!help give", "pls help fish") to slash commands ("/help command:give", "/help command:fish") since Discord is no longer supporting prefix commands.
