Seperate Slash Commands & Preview Emojis As You Type
I enjoy typing :cooking: while the emoji does not instantly replace the text, but by having this disabled I cannot use /tenor nor /giphy in chat (slash commands), which is something I use very often.
It's a minor inconvenience, as there's already a preview when typing, so I don't need the text to be converted into an emoji, yet having this disabled I cannot use slash commands...
I'd love it if these two options were separated so I can send gifs at the speed of light while being old and stubborn with the classic usage of :emoji: emojis ( -;

I came to suggest this today, and when I searched to see if anyone had already suggested it, I found a handful of suggestions with only a couple votes each. I highly recommend we all focus our attention on one, and I suggest: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/1500000840642-Make-slash-commands-and-emoji-mention-markdown-previews-separate-toggles because it currently has the most upvotes. Also, as all of these suggestions range from a year to six months old, please consider asking people you know to upvote it as well. Discord isn't going to consider this unless we drive some attention to the issue, but quite frankly this breaks usability in a lot of ways.
I personally find it makes formatting my messages the way I *want* them formatted much harder, since the assumptions the preview makes are often counter what I need, and because of the way it enables the previews, it makes it harder for me to correct it. But I don't want to cut off my access to the slash commands either (especially since my friend who codes the bot I use on two of my servers finally was able to upgrade their bot to make use of slash commands).0
