Customized Role-Specific Emojis

The idea hit me today when considering moderating a chat for inappropriate behavior: Have role-specific emojis which are identified by a colored border (which would correspond with that assigned role) and is additionally only usable by that specific role.

I.E.: The moderators in a server I participate in are given blue names. Accordingly, the role-specific emojis would—aside from being unique compared to the server's "public" emojis—be readily identifiable if applied to someone's message. Others could vote it up, but they wouldn't be able to use it themselves.

In practice, what could this be used for? In my specific example, if someone is pushing the rules but not quite breaking them, it would be both an easy and funny to "mark" someone's offending message with such an emoji; it would be a quick, easy way of letting them and those around them know that they're not as under the radar as they think, without needing to take time to just drop in a message to warn them unless they're really going over the line.

Beyond such a use as that? I honestly have no idea, but I'm sure others could think of additional applications of such a feature.

    I want this implemented so that I can tie my discord server into my game.

    Basically, when joining the server, people could choose their character class (cavalier, musketeer, guardian, etc.) and they would have their own exclusive emoji they could use to represent it. The emoji would be the pixel art from the game that shows the class (I also wish we could put the emoji next to their name if they have the role, but some people might not like that, so I don't think that can be implemented.)

    I run 2 discord.
    One for a Pokémon League.
    (I’m a actually a Play Pokémon Professor)
    Anyways, I deputized about 16 of my members as gym leaders for the Video Games & 11 more as the TCG Gym Leaders.

    Adding Custom Emoticons to nicknames or the use of Emoticon behind a role would be extraordinary GG.

    If I had to boost my server to make this work, I would buy nitro!

    (Unrelated, but I seen Sargent James in this thread, we have similar Interests. I tried searching for his league but can’t find his Discord League.

    My League is called Northern Pokémon Trainers if any was wondering or is interested.)

    +1. I just started my first big community server and want to implement this!

    I have the mee6 levels script set to grant users new tiered roles based on their participation in the community. I want to assign sets of emojis based on those roles so that every set number of levels, users can unlock something new. This would be such a great way to reward user engagement. Please make this happen!

    It has been in the api for over 2 years, and there is still no way to do that without using the api.

    Custom Server Emoji's need to have the ability to group them for "everyone" or "role" use as well as visibility.  Critical example:  NSFW emoji should only be visible to people with that role.

    Would still very much like this feature added. Right now adding a bot and setting it up just for role specific emoji's feels clunky and unnecessary.

    I have been looking for this EXACT functionality! It would be very useful to our game testing Discord server if we could reward users and "gamify" the experience of testing by giving certain users and roles specific emojis. An "unlock" system of rewards, if you will.

    I mean it seems since discord is so freaking advanced it should have the same operability as teamspeak did!!  We could easily upload icons for each role or name if needed.

    Five years since this was reported, and still no updates from Discord. Is there any indication they have read or are listening to this at all?
