"Claim your nitro" bot scam
So, i got this DM from a bot called "Claim your nitro" bot which told me that i could get free nitro by clicking a "link" to accept and add the bot. This bot is obviously a scam which needs to be dealt with as soon as possible. This bot is not a ip logger its basically a server nuker.

I did a whois on the domain for the gift domain (was not able to get it to pull for the birth domain, whois apparently don't recognize it as a domain), found that it's being hosted by a web host I recently had issues with somebody trying to extort money out of me in cryptocurrency, I was able to get that to stop from that mail server fairly quickly by filing a complaint to the report abuse email address. The person who registered the domain isn't even using whois privacy, he's manually filled in REDACTED FOR PRIVACY from every information field on the registration information, that alone can have the domain suspended for inaccurate information. The abuse report address is abuse@namecheap.com

Just got it. Hope they fix it soon.1 -
Just recieved a message from a bot called " You Won ! ", offerring 30 server boosts if I invited the bot to my server and waited one day. Because I'm oblivious to how Boost or Nitro works I thought it was legit and added it to my server for a few minutes before deciding to search for it and realizing the mistake I made.
Had to message everyone on the server (luckly only 3 other people) to change their passwords and activate 2FA on Discord and other connected accounts to avoid any damage. This was not fun.

This situation could be resolved pretty quickly by implementing a URL blacklist, this could be referenced through Discord servers & reject messages (or at least filter those links) based on domain name. Of course the scam artist would just make more domains (they already have 2 that I know of) or start pushing them through a redirect service, but this is going to slow down their progress in stealing Discord servers & eventually it should get on the radars of the hosts that he's using.

I clicked it and well oh god.... I'm changing my password right now.

I got a dm from a bot like this. The "Free Nitro" like is actually an invite to a server called "2 Invite = NITRO!!!" or something like that. You do not get free nitro.

Ah, yes, I was hit with this lil'number in the dms today. The bots -or, something similar to it? Is still very much alive.

I also got it, it’s now “Nitro Gift”, ID is #9346. I’ve kicked it, banned it, and then blocked it 5 minutes after clicking on it. Then changed my password. It’s a big server I added it to, is there any reason it message my members and tell them to change their passwords? Or is kicking and banning it and changing my password enough?

you should be fine. I'd change my discord password up to you, but as long as you removed it from your server I don't see what else it could have done. Check your server settings to see if everything is the same, but tell your users not to click on any messages from similar bots or add it to any of their servers.0 -
So I got this yesterday and me being me I clicked on it and applied it to one of my servers. I changed my password and kicked it out and deleted the conversation but I totally forgot to block it. Is it okay if I didn’t block it?
