@Tsryusly Trianglieng Yes. On OLED Screens, you can turn on and off each individiual pixel. If the background is completely black, then people with OLED Screens save (a lot of) battery

@Shaggyskunk - I haven't read the tos, nor do I honestly care. However, it doesn't seem likely that it would be. It's located in a configuration file, not the apk itself. Load up an app like preferences manager for Android and enable it via the configuration.

@BitAnime a preference manager requires root. Not everyone here wants to root there device.

Yeah I have some devices with Root & others without - There's Substratum Themes that will Theme Discord on many devices (exceptions are Samsung S8 series & Note8 & S10 series running One UI) I suppose that the Rooted device could use Preferences Manager to modify the Discord app & upload it to a Cloud storage & then download it to the non Rooted device...?

@MrJWOfficial they want an AMOLED black themed discord, not dark mode... We know that exists, it is the default theme... like I said earlier, black theme exists in styles.xml it is just not implemented or complete yet, I found it and it was also confirmed by devs in the test server who said it is not a priority right now

@Wiz_Techno perhaps a recap for anyone who hasn't read the beginning:
AMOLED screens will completely turn off black pixels and save a lot of power, but the darkest grey that is not black draws significantly more power. We're BEGGING discord staff to save our batteries and allow us to turn off the background pixels. It's as simple as replacing the background color! One find-replace trick! Background-color:#000 is all we ask, but it'll save a huge amount of power for those who use discord admittedly maybe a little too much.

The option already exists but is hidden in the app. It's called pure evil theme. There is a way to activate it. Though, I am still looking into this myself. Let's see how this goes. I have been successful in activating it partially.

I'm just using Substratum to Theme it - couldn't be bothered to fight for it - If it's such a hassle....
