New update has changed certain symbols and icons
The new layout update that was pushed out to some mobile users today has changed the symbols of text channels, so all text channels that are public have an “Aa” next to it instead of a “#”, making it look very ugly and really throws me off when reading channel names in server channel lists.
Also, when im in a text channel, the icon on the top left of the page is now a back arrow instead of a hamburger (3 horizontal lines) button. This throws me off because typically the back arrow means im inside a thread or something like that, i used that to identify that. But now it looks weird without the hamburger.
All of the other design changes to the ui are minor changes. Just wanted to provide user feedback to apparently unnecessary ui changes.
The ui looks fine. Whats the point in constantly changing it for no reason?

I don't like the new layout update either, it basically ruins what's so unique about Discord's icons and makes them unnessecarily round and simplified, worst cosmetic update ever.
I think this change was because they're overhauling the mobile client, so they thought “why don't we make the UI stuff more like other mobile socials, and also apply that to PC?” so we got this ://3 -
Almost all of the new icons are too big, clunky, and look bad. When can we do custom UI's Discord? Become that user friendly program you used to be all about!

My brain is doing cartwheels when I look at the channels list now. I wonder what genius came up with the idea of changing channel icons to letters in front of other letters.

Seems like they have fixed these ridiculous Aa prefixes. In my app the channels have # again in front.
