Discord gives me 5000ms ping

So I'm getting this really weird issue where my internet will be fine, everything's working, but Discord and only Discord will say that I have 5000ms ping when I hover over the "Voice Connected" panel on the bottom left. I can hear everyone else fine, but they can't hear me. I'm not sure what's causing this - I started pinging Google to see if my internet was the problem, but it's sub 100ms there. It happens often, and it's ALWAYS at 5000ms. People will hear me talk for a bit when I get into calls, and then it's like Discord assigns this to me after the fact.

Is there a fix for this?

    I don't think it is a network problem. Look at all those people with basically same problem, most of them has pretty fast connection too. I am facing this problem for almost a year now, and still didn't found out how to fix it. However the fastest fix is disconnect and connect back to channel, or just jump to other voice channel and then back (other people can move you, works as well). Unfortunately it is only temporary fix and it will eventually break again.

    so I had this problem for a while it is an isp issue. I called the isp they said nothing wrong with my connection. so the solution I found is to use a vpn. as soon as I turn it on , the ping immediately goes back to normal. the problem with discord is that they don't allow the usage of proxies anyway , I fixed it with a vpn.

    The same thing happens. I live in Russia, I distribute Internet from my phone. I tried all the recommendations of Discord and my provider, nothing helped.

    GUYS I FIXED IT .. I just bought a new router, everything works just fine. However, I still haven't found out what the problem was.

    This is still a thing. i fixed it for a month or 2 and now its back

    Creating new channel on discord server after changing DNS on ipv4 protocol to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and flushing dns worked for me. Weird bug

    It's almost 2024, and the issue still exists. For the past 2 years, I upgraded my PC, changed my home, changed my IPS, changed my router, created new discord channels, tried all DNS settings that exist on the internet, turned off & on IPv6, flushed & cleared DNS, changed about 5 ethernet cables, etc..

    I had this same proble for year now my normal ping is 23-32ms yet every 30-40mins it spikes to 5000ms ad it bs my interne connection is fine but yet it still dose it

    After almost 4 year off searching and trying ever fix  i can assure you that there is no fix other than using vpn and proxy's or change your isp provider

    Other than that its up to discord
