VIdeo Call in Server Voice Channels
DISCORD!!! please bring back video calls in voice channels in servers, it was fun for me to video call my friends in the server but now I can't do it. PLEASE work on it as fast as you can, it was a good feature PLEASE!!!!.

The link workaround stopped working today... what a waste! especially at this strange times the feature was really really nice!!!

Why does Discord keep removing perfectly fine working things to replace them with stuff that is worse. Go Live is unreliable, does crash apps on my desktop and I only can follow one person screenshare at the time. I sometimes wonder if they want more or less people using their service ...
However, replace Go Live with the method used in the links and everything is good to go. AND DO NOT TWEAK THE CODE BEHIND IT, IT JUST WORKS!

When are we gonna get feedback on this from admin or moderators of this forum/discord if they are gonna bring it back or fix this?

Absolutely ridiculous. I'll be moving me and my friends to a different voice chat/conferencing software; even MS teams would be better just using the 'meet now in team' function.
Lack of responsiveness is appalling as well.

I'm currently trying to convince some of my non-gamer friends to use discord as our main communication platform during the social distancing. If discord had group video, then they'd have no excuse not to use it!
Edit: Have found out that group video call does exist, but it would still be great if we could do this within a server, in a video channel

Can anyone confirm this is fixed yet??
Specifically, ability to create a Voice Channel with a Live Stream and then have Video Chat with all the stream viewers at the same time?
It also would be nice to have the streamers webcam superimposed over the video, like OBS. Can you stream an OBS feed?Sorry for the rant...Thanks!

Yes, please. It feels weird that this isn't a feature. Make video chat an option for voice channels, or a separate type of room. But give it to us!

+1 would really like to see a group conference call ability in a channel, it would be nice to see peoples faces during this pandemic.

This feature works again, you just need to create this link in your discord server and click it. http://discordapp.com/channels/<serverid>/<channelid>
replace <serverid> with your server id, by enabling developer mode in the appearance settings and right click on the server and copy id.Then again, <channelid>right click on the channel and copy id and paste it.
once you click that link, join the voice channel of the channel id you copied, and you should see screen and webcam share options. Anyone else that clicks the link and joins the voice channel will see all the shared cams and screens, and have the option to share there's as well.-1 -
If you want your webcam in the corner over your screen, get OBS and put together a scene with your webcam over the screen. Then right click on your broadcast window and use windowed projector. From there you should have the ability to share that window in discord. You'll want it to be at least 720p, or it'll look pixelated, so just scale it up a bit. You can drag it off screen and it'll still get shared.
Audio from your desktop won't come through, but there might be another way to get that going, haven't figured it out yet. Maybe voicemeeter banana can pipe stuff through your mic. But now you are into Twitch streaming territory and you should just be a full time streamer. ;)

@Brictone I created the link successfully. No option to share camera/video for users that connect to voice server.

@brictone I believe they removed this work around and if not it doesnt work for everyone + plus you cant check the text channel anymore...... and this was a feature some months back but they removed it. AND WE WANT IT BACK DISCORD, GIVE IT BACK TO YOUR COMUNITY, WE NEEDS IT.

It is true that this did not work in version 567xx
As of now, I'm using 57092, and it's working well.
@SwattayJust post that link, or pin it in your server somewhere and instruct all the viewers to click the link and join the voice channel. Also check that everyone is up to date with the versions I checked to be working.
I just updated to 57279, and it appears to still work. In fact, they updated the interface and it's improved now. I'm pretty certain they were just trying to improve this feature, and inadvertently broke it for some previous versions.

Which version of discord are they using? Are they on Mac, PC, Android, iOS, Browser, which browser?
This feature is pretty limited on most platforms other than PC and will most likely fail in one way or another. I don't think screaming for discord to bring it back, when it's clearly back will do anything.If you can find all the details, from what I mentioned above, them I'm sure it can be solved. Also ask them to try the Canary version of discord. This might fix it for some.
I think this thread is pretty conclusive for now.

They are using a windows PC aplication and it has been update they klicked update and restarted etc.

can confirm, the dev mode manual link creation works on a windows PC once again.

Bump - Zoom sucks bring this back. A dev mode only non-mobile version that tends to fail on any platform thats not pc isn't really a feature, although i appreciate the initial step.
