Hiding Discord Nitro Boost status
Please make it an option to hide the "gem" that appears next to your name on a server that you have boosted. I myself find it annoying and would rather not be constantly broadcasting that I have boosted a server to all and sundry, I dislike the look of it greatly.
Please also make it an option to hide the badge relating to boosting on your profile. It is nobody else's business who I support [or indeed, if I support] besides myself.

... and let us OPT OUT OF THE @#$%^&* ROLE!!!

Discord doesn't care.
2 -
Funny, just cancelled because of complete inactivity by discord, hopefully it gets bought out by ms so it gets replaced by yet another client.
1 -
Has anyone in discord support even replied to this? A bit worrisome that despite the attention of late, not even a reply!
Bump this up everyone.

@Andres But it's a GOOD client. But they have indirect mechanisms for accomplishing straightforward goals, and they just don't LISTEN when it comes to simple things that could only result in increased revenue for them.
Their marketing sucks. And whatever you do, don't contact them about a problem. (But this would change if the company was actually up for sale...)

I didn't realize I wouldn't be able to hide this. I am not your advertising space, discord. I'll have to cancel.

I purchased the 1/yr and now I'm screwed. I cancelled but for the next year that boost icon will be next to my name. It's insane how Discord listens and responds to user feedback (in a good way!) but ignores the feedback from PAYING users.

wow the great idea

jmznoh you should try contacting them to ask about removing it. When they say you can't you can push for a refund.
You could be our hero here because it might remind them that this is an issue for people and so it could get brought up at a meeting or something if someone decides to mention it.0 -
DarranJFord I feel like we're being ignored, by now. This is a basic "feature" (actually, not having it is a bug) that logically should have been there from the beginning. Direct message with Discord CS has confirmed that this is not a "policy" decision. In that case, it feels like prolonged incompetence.

144 likes for 2 years. Thats $28.8k lost for them.
But at least discord marketing help us saved $200.2 -
+1, this is really annoying
2 -
Yea
@discord pls remove that pls
1 -
Please add the option to remove this. I rather unsubscribe or not use the boosts than have that embarrasing icon showing up.
2 -
I supported this request and voted for it.
Sometimes it is not polite to display the booster icon. And people may confuse that I'm a server admin when they see the icon, so it is misleading. Just add an option to remove it.
Thank you so much for being so considerate.

I was really expecting to be able to boost anonymously. I don’t want to draw attention to myself and really would like to hide all the boost / nitro badges.

I am a relatively new user and I wanted to boost the server I'm on anonymously, I did not know it was going to force-change my name color. The icon I can deal with (though I'd prefer to hide it entirely) but the color makes me stand out and I hate it. I am not an admin on the server, but it makes me look like someone "important" and it's somewhat embarrassing. I've downgraded but that won't take effect until next month and I don't know how to get rid of it *now*!!

LBC_312 ask the admins on your server to change the color for the "Nitro Booster" role. Only the icon can't be changed at this time, though I'm not sure if the new role icon change on Level 2 servers would override the Nitro icon or add to it.

Similar story to those mentioned above. Wanted to anonymously support my community only to find out I get this unremovable female genitals shaped icon. Please kindly consider implementing the discussed option.
1 -
Is this what you're looking for?

Nope. This shows the progress for the whole server. We are asking to disable the little icon that pops up beside our individual names indicating that we are the ones boosting.

Got a free nitro trial and boosted a server, now I'm going to end the boost and not subscribe to nitro :(. I don't like a big symbol next to my name and a super bright color.

I cancelled Nitro over this more than a year ago, and was considering coming back this year for the holiday promo if it had been removed. It hasn't, so I won't be resubscribing. I run a community and wanted to boost my server so my members got some nice extra features, but the icon drew too much attention. I don't want to have to explain "what the vagina by my name" means.1

I found button to remove vagina

This icon has bugged me since day one and it doesn't matter what it looks like, I just don't want it to be known that I boost a server.
The option to hide it should technically not be difficult to implement and this issue has been ongoing for three years, so I'm guessing some marketing people think it's a really good idea. Well, it's not.
I purchased a year subscription and I don't think I will continue with this icon still visible.

Had I known boosting would change your primary role and was forcibly visible to all I would not have boosted. I will remove my boost as soon as I'm able. I'll consider boosting again when I can do so anonymously.

I opened a ticket 9 months ago. It shouldn't really be that difficult.

Still needed.
I really feel uncomfortable because people on the server treat me as a donater rather than a person. Additionally, I feel toxic towards others, as if I was saying things like, 'Hey, I'm richer than you, I love this server more than you.'
To hide the Discord-booster role, I had to go invisible. However, every time my username appears in the chat, it's accompanied by a badge, so I simply stopped writing there and feel guilty for spending money. Although there might not be too many people like me, we still exist.1
