Linux - Screen Share Sound Support
With Screen Sharing sound already supported on Windows, I would like Screen Sharing to be supported for Discord on Linux as well.
Gaming on Linux exists and does relatively well despite what many naysayers think or wish to believe and having this support for users such as myself would make this less frustrating.
(Not to mention that we're not even mentioned in the supported platforms art along with the other logos at the bottom of the site's webpages...)

With the release of Windows 11 and the lack of support for old hardware, more and more people are switching to Linux. I would like to see Linux supported as a first-class citizen in software development. Please support my operating system.

This has been broken for as long as I can remember, and is in desperate need for a fix. Please for the love of everything look into restoring this functionality. Pipewire is a good solution that works with other Electron apps, and is included with a lot of Linux distros. It shouldn't be all too difficult to find a solution using Pipewire and modern Electron versions.
With the release of the Steam Deck coming soon (which runs on Linux), I feel this is especially important to look into.

Recently switched to linux and found out after a few days of setting up everything that this doesn't work... streaming at higher res/fps is also a reason i boost my server but now that's not useful anymore

Please fix this issue, it's incredible frustrating to know that I can't enjoy games the way I want to with friends on discord and them in turn thinking it's a linux problem, while it's actually a platform problem

@ナツ
I agree 100%, it's frustrating when friends label these sort of issues as a "Linux" problem, when in reality it's the mentality towards Linux that is the problem, not the OS itself.

Steamdeck is being released in a couple of months which is built upon linux, it makes us play games almost or even better than on Windows. I hope the discord devs sees all of us that this is actually a thing that is needed. Or maybe give some type of response on when it will be released.

to not add proper linux support to your app is you just being lazy. as a company your primary goal is to expand, which you have been trying to do for awhile now. You're no longer just a "Free voice and text chat for gamers". You're expanding to a much wider and bigger community trying to not only get gamers onto your platform now, but teachers, students, politicians, artists, clubs, developers, and I'm sure plenty of others. now that you're so big and have all of these people creating these communities on your platform, why are you completely ignoring the people who use Linux? It shouldn't be hard to simply add support for users who use the kernel just to simply share their screen on a electron app. Especially with how many people are switching to the kernel, And even more so with the terrible introduction to Windows 11.
And, You know. Just people done with Microsoft's bs.6
