I know you've got nerds pushing for it within the company, but I don't want to have to move all my stuff to slack because you fell for this scam that makes the world worse in every possible way.

This. All of this. Have already cancelled my Nitro, since I figured the "other reason" box might be a good way to leave feedback about how much I do not want to support NFTs. I'm also looking into alternatives for the multiple gaming communities I run, because if this goes ahead I am very, very likely to move them all to Slack or Guilded, or another alternative.
Discord, I really, really hope you don't go down this route.

I have been a Nitro subscriber and booster since it was first created. I have the "Early Supporter" badge and everything.
I will not hesitate to cancel my subscription and move my servers to Guilded the moment that Discord integrates (read: "endorses") NFT scams.
Cryptocurrencies are purely used because of the value they hold in fiat. No one is using crypto except to increase their value in converted fiat or to make illegal transactions that aren't traceable. This makes crypto inherently prone to scams, schemes, and an audience that would harm Discord communities overall. Until crypto holds its own value that is disconnected from fiat, it will be wrought with abuse and illegal activity that I won't have anything to do with.

Gonna dig up my telegram login if it turns out discord is throwing its hat in with NFTs. Seriously, this platform has been a great place to keep in contact with friends for years but if you guys want to declare you're fine with the climate, financial, and PR nightmare that NFTs would bring, then I'm out.

This is incredibly disappointing. I've been an avid user of Discord since very early on in its development cycle, and I genuinely felt the company had better values than this - I see I've been quite mistaken. Expect to lose a lot of money and social clout if NFT/crypto scams get official endorsement or integration. Much more intelligent people than myself have expounded at length about the damage they do to artists, the environment, and finance; perhaps listen to them?

Genuinely disappointed with this direction Discord is attempting to take. People much more eloquent than I have talked at length about the problems with cryptocurrencies and NFTs, and at this point it feels rather silly to have to reiterate these points. Aside from the massive environmental harm they cause, the crypto/NFT scene is extremely prone to scams and dubiously legal financial activity. It also feels very weird that Discord is trying to hop onto the NFT scene after the House passed that bill to require reporting income made through NFT/crypto that defeats the entire appeal of anonymous transactions that helped it gain popularity. All that aside, I'm extremely insulted by that sorry excuse of a user survey on this topic. Seems someone on the Discord team knows how massively unpopular official NFT support would be but didn't want to prove themselves right. I'd hate to have to cancel my Nitro and find a new platform, but I gladly will if Discord goes through with NFT support.

I have yet to get nitro and if you start doing NFTs I will not only never buy it but will do everything in my power to make sure no one uses your shit again. I will move everything to slack, hell I'll make skype work again, I'll give your app bad reviews and make new email accounts just to push it the hell down.
If you're going to launder money, literally the only thing NFTs did (and even then they won't serve that purpose anymore with the new legislation) then do the more ecologically friendly option of getting in the fine art market. At least then you have a physically object with some soul put into it.
Also don't be cheeky and get into any blockchain crap. The ecological impact of crypto is speeding up global warming and if I find out you have mining farms I will empty my savings, buy a ticket to their location and personally smash those towers with an axe.

Not only will I leave Discord, I will also move all of my communities and connections off of Discord. Everyone here speaking against it isn't just one person leaving, it's often a dozen at a time since they will get others to leave through word of mouth. Multiply every comment here by their frequently chatted with friends, the servers they run or mod, and the same previous two for anyone they convince to leave.

I've already seen large numbers of people in my servers and elsewhere cancelling their Nitro subscription.
I've been a subscriber since 2017, if this NFT feature goes live that will end.
Whoever pushed for this feature needs a dose of reality about the ecological and social impact of NFTs on the broader community, and if they legitimately think that this is actually a feature users have been clamoring for, then they need to be removed, because they've completely lost touch with their users. Even if it's Jason himself.

I will no joke selfhost my own instance of some opensource communication software for my friends and I the instant this integration is confirmed to be happening.
I refuse to support anything crypto in it's current form especially NFT's because of the way it impacts small individual artists among other things.

I don't trust crypto anything and I honestly expect its value to completely flatline any day now. That said, I wouldn't touch NFTs with a ten foot pole and any site or app that attempts to use them is one I avoid.

I'm not going to explain why crypto/NFTs are bad for Discord, because others have already said why better than I have. Plus, I know you and your team aren't dumb. Make this move and I'll be forced to take business elsewhere, and I'll encourage everyone I know that has Discord Nitro to do the same.

I am so disappointed. If I had a nitro? I would cancel it at this point. Do not put anything to do with crypto in the discord.

I'm in a situation right now where almost all of my eggs are in a discord basket and I've banked more than a year of content production that basically hinges on my continued activity on Discord, and I want you devs and execs of Discord to understand that I will abandon this platform the moment you integrate NFTs into it.
I have kids.
I want them to be able to breathe outside when they grow up.
No online community platform is worth destroying the planet.

Discord, please, please reconsider this. NFTs are an environmentally-unconscious pyramid scheme. I don't wanna move to an alternative to Discord, but I will choose not to buy a Nitro subscription if you continue down this dangerous path.

It's been demonstrably shown that NFTs are bad for the environment, bad for people, and are very often outright scams. The people at Discord should be fully aware of this at this point. The question is whether they care, and whether they're okay with their users leaving in droves because they decided to embrace garbage.

Adopting NFTs, cryptocurrency or the blockchain in general is an extremely bad idea, and Discord should not be doing it. Its effect on artists and creatives would be terrible enough without the catastrophic environmental impact.

Do not, do not, do not do that. Do not. NFTs are, as everyone else has already pointed out, insanely harmful to the environment, full-on scams with art (more frequently than not) stolen from artists who don't see a dime of these transactions. I won't even get into the logistics associated with NFTs because my knowledge on the topic isn't as great as that of others here, but they've covered the points really well.
Seriously, do NOT.
