What this article covers:
What is a Bug?
Bugs are those annoying glitches in Discord that disrupt your experience. Imagine you're in the middle of a voice chat, and the app suddenly crashes, or you're trying to add a reaction to your gaming guild’s announcement, but behold your favorite emoji is cut in half! These bugs can be really frustrating, but Discord is always working to fix them and make sure everything runs smoothly.
How to Complete the Bug Form
Please note that not all types of Bug Reports are supported. To determine if your issue falls within the unsupported category, we kindly ask you to review our Unsupported Reports article before submitting your report.
Here’s a full breakdown of what information to provide when filling out the bug form.
Description
When describing a bug, keep it short and clear, which is usually just a sentence or two. For example, instead of saying "It's broken" or "It glitches," try to be specific about what's happening. This helps us understand the problem better and fix it faster.
Example:
When attempting to react to a message, my emojis don't appear.
Steps to Reproduce
Write easy step-by-step instructions on how to make the bug happen. Be descriptive and include any details you feel are important to make the bug occur. Avoid saying things like: “Do Bug!"
Example:
- Hover over a message you want to react to
- Click on the "Add Reaction" button
- Tap an emoji you want to react with
- Observe
Expected Results
Tell us what you think should be happening instead of the bug. Describe how you believe the feature is supposed to work. The more details you provide, the easier it will be for us to understand and fix the issue.
Example:
After tapping the emoji to react with it would show up on the bottom of the message.
Actual Results
Let us know what's actually happening when the bug occurs. Describe the unexpected behavior you're seeing.
Example:
When attempting to react to a message, the emoji doesn't appear at the bottom of the message.
