How to Delete a Discord Account
Desktop/Browser App
1. Go to your User Settings by pressing on the cogwheel icon in the bottom left corner of the Discord app.

2. Ensure you’ve selected the My Account tab in the left-side menu.

3. At the bottom of the My Account page, select Delete Account.

4. If you haven’t done so already, you must transfer the ownership of all the servers you own or delete those servers you own. You will not be able to delete your Discord account until you have done so.

5. Once your ownership of your servers has been transferred, you can return to User Settings > My Account and select Delete Account once again.
6. Enter your account’s password. If you have multi-factor authentication enabled for this Discord account, you must enter the required authentication as well.
7. Press on Delete Account.

Mobile App
1. Tap on your profile avatar in the bottom right corner of the mobile app.

2. Tap on your profile avatar again or the gear icon in the upper right corner of the app to open Settings.
3. Tap on Account.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and press on Delete Account.

5. If you haven’t done so already, you must transfer the ownership of all the servers you own. You will not be able to delete your Discord account until you have done so.

6. Once your ownership of your servers has been transferred, you can go back to your User Settings by pressing on your profile avatar > profile avatar again or gear icon > Account and select Delete Account once again.
7. Enter your account’s password. If you have multi-factor authentication enabled for this Discord account, you must enter the required authentication as well.
8. Press on Okay.

What Happens After I Delete My Discord Account?
When you delete your Discord account, the following will occur:
- Once you confirm that you would like to delete your account, you will be immediately logged out of your Discord account.
- Your Discord account will be in a “pending deletion” state for 15 days from the moment you confirm that you want to delete your account.
- Once the 15-day period ends, your Discord account will be deleted from our system and it is irreversible.
- You will not receive notifications or friend requests.
- You will lose access to all your servers, direct messages, group messages, and purchases.
- Your subscriptions like Nitro and/or Server Boosts will be cancelled.
- Any Discord server you owned under your deleted Discord account will continue to exist but with a different server owner you elect.
- Your account will be anonymized across all servers and messages.
Having Trouble Deleting Your Discord Account?
If you’re having issues deleting your Discord account, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- If you are unable to initiate the process of deleting your Discord account within the Discord app, you can reach out to our Support Team for assistance on deleting your account.
- If you are unable to access your Discord account and you suspect that your account has been compromised so you would like to delete your account, please reach out to our Support Team.
- If you log into your account and restore it after you initially confirmed the deletion of your account, the account deletion has been cancelled and the account will not be deleted.
- If your account has been deleted because it was banned, disabled, or actioned on by Discord, you cannot restore it. You may submit an appeal on your account to our Trust & Safety team.
