Our goal for Discord is to support as many devices and operating systems as possible. Below, you’ll see the minimum operating systems requirements, along with what we recommend for the best and fastest experience.

Additional Notes:
- For iOS: You can find iPhones and iPads supported by iOS 15.1+ here and here.
- For Android: Discord only supports devices that ship with Google Play Services by default. This means some devices, including Amazon Kindles, are not supported.
If you are running a device with Android 6, you will no longer receive updates with the latest features and bug fixes. Versions released before 202 may stop working after an unspecified amount of time.

What is Not Supported?
- Jailbroken or Rooted devices are not supported.
- Beta operating systems are not supported.
- While Discord may install and run on a beta version of an operating system, some features of the app may not function correctly.
- Running Discord in a mobile browser is not supported.
How to Fix Lag on your Discord
Lag on your Discord app can occur for a variety of reasons and vary on a user-by-user basis. If you are experiencing delayed functionality or stuttering on your Discord app, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take that might help fix lag:
- Ensure that your Discord desktop/mobile app is updated to the latest version
- You can also try reinstalling the Discord app on desktop or mobile
- Ensure that your device is updated to the latest OS version/drivers
- Ensure your web browser is updated or try a different web browser for Discord
- You can also try reducing the number of open tabs and browser windows
- Test your Internet connection speed and reset your Internet modem and/or router
- Disable Automatically play GIFs when Discord is focused by going to User Settings > Accessibility > disable Automatically play GIFs when Discord is focused
- Disable Play animated emoji by going to User Settings > Accessibility > disable Play animated emoji
- On the Discord desktop app: Disable Hardware Acceleration by going to User Settings > Advanced > disable Hardware Acceleration
- When streaming: Reduce the stream quality by pressing on the three dots menu icon in the bottom corner of the video stream > pressing Stream Quality > selecting lower Frame Rate and Resolution options
