Need help from our support team? This guide will walk you through submitting a support ticket through Discord's Help Center.
What this article covers:
Support Account vs. Discord Account
Your Discord Support account for the Help Center is separate from your Discord app account.
This means:
- You'll create different login credentials for the Discord Help Center
- Your Discord Help Center password is separate from your Discord app password
- You'll need to sign in specifically to the Discord Help Center to submit or view tickets
Submitting Your First Ticket
If you've never submitted a ticket to our Help Center before, follow these steps:
Create your Discord Support Account
1. Go to https://support.discord.com/ in your browser.
2. Select Sign in, located in the top-right corner of the page.
3. On the sign-in page, press on the Sign Up hyperlink next to "New to Discord Support" and you’ll see a new page to:
- Enter your full name
- Enter your email address
Then once you’ve reviewed your sign-up information, select the Sign up button.
4. After pressing Sign up, you'll see a message that says Check your email with instructions to look for a link to set a new password. Look for an email from Support (support@discord.com) with the subject line Activate account for Discord Support.
5. Open the email and press the Activate account link. This will:
- Verify your email address
- Allow you to set your Help Center password (remember, this is separate from your Discord app password)
- Complete your account setup
Submit your Discord Support Ticket
Once your Discord Support account is activated and you're signed in, you can now submit your ticket:
1. Choose Your Category
First, you'll see "What can we help you with?" with several category options, such as: Help & Support, Bug Reporting, Refunds, Cancellations & Payments, Feedback, and more.
Select the category that best matches your issue.
2. Complete the Form
Depending on the category you select, you'll see different form fields. Common fields include:
- Type of question: Select the specific type of support you need (this dropdown changes based on your chosen category)
- Additional category fields: Some categories may ask for more details like "What type of issue are you experiencing?" or "Platform" (Android, iOS, Desktop, etc.)
- Subject: Provide a brief, clear description of your issue
-
Description: Explain your issue in detail. Include relevant information like:
- What happened and when
- Steps you've already tried
- Any error messages you received
- Attachments (optional): Add any relevant screenshots or files by pressing "Add file" or dragging files into the designated area
3. Submit Your Ticket
Review all your information and press the "Submit" button to send your ticket to our Support team.
4. Check Your Email
You'll receive a confirmation email with your ticket number. Save this for your records and use it to track your ticket status.
Submitting Additional Tickets
If you've previously submitted a ticket, the process is even simpler:
1. Head to https://support.discord.com/ and press on Sign in in the top-right corner
2. Enter the email and password you created for your Support account
3. Once signed in, press Submit a request and fill out the ticket form with details about your new issue
4. Once you're finished filling out the details, press on Submit to submit your ticket.
5. When you're signed in, you can view all your previous tickets and their status by pressing on your profile or navigating to My activities or Requests.
If You've Submitted Tickets Before But Never Set Up Your Support Account
If you previously submitted tickets via email but never activated your Help Center account or set a password, and attempt to sign up using that email address, you'll receive a message stating:
"Discord Support sign-up attempt"
In this case:
- Press "reset your password" from the email you receive
- Complete the password setup process to gain full access to your Discord Help Center account
- Once set up, you can view all your previous tickets and submit new ones through the portal
Sending an Email for Support
First-Time Email Submission
If this is your first time contacting Discord Support via email and you don't have a Help Center account yet:
1. Send your email to the appropriate Discord Support email address (for example: sample-support-email@discord.com)
2. Check for the activation email: You'll receive an email from Support support@discord.com with the subject line "Discord welcome email"
3. Activate your account: Press the link in the bottom of the email to verify your email address and set your Discord Help Center password
4. Your ticket is created: Once activated, your email will be converted into a support ticket that you can track in your Discord Help Center account
Already Have a Help Center Account?
If you already have a Discord Help Center account with the email address you're sending from, your email will automatically create a ticket associated with your account.
You'll receive a confirmation email with your ticket number.
Tips for Submitting a Support Ticket
To help our support team to resolve your issue:
- Be specific: Provide as much detail as possible about your issue and include screenshots when applicable
- Reply to the same ticket: If you have follow-up information about an existing issue, reply to the original ticket email rather than creating a new ticket
- Check your email OR your Requests & My Activities tab for updates: Our support team will respond via email, so monitor the inbox associated with your Support account. You can also check your Requests or My Activities tab to review any updates to your ticket.
