How to Link Your Discord and Xbox Accounts
To take full advantage of an Xbox connection for your Discord experience, you will need to connect your Discord and Xbox accounts. Connecting your Xbox account to your Discord account means you can:
- Display your Xbox GamerTag
- Display your Xbox game activity
- Display how long you’ve been playing on your Xbox console
- Transfer your Discord voice chat to your Xbox console
How to Connect My Xbox Account from Discord
On Desktop Client
1. Press on the cogwheel [] at the bottom left of your client to go to your User Settings and then navigate to the Connections tab.
2. Select the Xbox icon and press Continue to begin the account linking.
3. To establish the connection of your Discord and Xbox accounts, press Continue which will open a browser page for you to provide your Microsoft account credentials.
4. After you read over the in-client authorization message, press Authorize and Continue.
5. And that’s it! You can now show your Xbox GamerTag, game activity, and how long you’ve been playing on Xbox in your Discord user profile.
On Mobile Client
1. Navigate to the User Settings on your Discord mobile client
2. Select the Connections option, press Add on the Connections page, then choose Xbox from the Add New Connections.
3. The app will let you know that you will need to connect both your Xbox and Discord accounts. Press Getting Started.
4. To establish the connection of your Discord and Xbox accounts, press Continue which will open an in-app browser page for you to provide your Microsoft account credentials.
5. After you read over the in-client authorization message, press Authorize and Continue.
6. Your accounts are now connected! You can now show your Xbox GamerTag, game activity, and how long you’ve been playing on Xbox in your Discord user profile. Don’t forget to download the Xbox app on your mobile device for Discord Voice on your Xbox console!
How to Connect My Discord Account from Xbox
On Xbox app
1. Open the Xbox app on the mobile device and select the Discord spotlight on the app’s homepage.
2. The app will let you know that you will need to connect both your Xbox and Discord accounts. Press Continue.
3. Input your Discord credentials and press Login.
4. Input your Microsoft credentials and press Login.

On Mobile Client
1. Navigate to User Settings and select Connections.
2. Press the “X” that’s by your Xbox account name then choose Deauthorize to unlink your Xbox account from your Discord account.

With your Xbox connection to your Discord account, you can share with other Discord users your Xbox GamerTag and what you’re currently playing on your Xbox console.

On Xbox Console

2. Log into your Xbox device with your Xbox account connected to your Discord account and press the Xbox button on the controller to open the console’s guide.
3. Navigate to Parties & chats then select Discord Voice in the menu list.
4. Select the Discord server with the desired voice channel.
5. Choose the voice channel to join a Discord voice channel from your Xbox console.
On Discord mobile app
1. Make sure to follow the steps above in the How to Connect My Xbox Account from Discord section to properly connect your Discord and Xbox accounts.
2. Once you have connected your accounts, you must install the Xbox app from your mobile device’s app store.
If you don’t install the Xbox app, you will not be able to transfer Discord Voice to your Xbox console.
3. On your Discord app, select a voice channel, swipe up for audio control settings, and select Join on Xbox.
4. If you’ve downloaded the Xbox app on your mobile device, it will open at this point. If not, you will be prompted to download it from your device’s app store. Once you have the Xbox app downloaded, choose the Xbox console you would like to transfer the Discord audio to then press Transfer Audio.
5. And that’s it! In your Discord mobile app, you will be able to Mute and Deafen your audio by swiping up in the voice channel, which will be reflected in your Xbox Console.
You should also see in your Xbox under Parties & Chats the connected Discord voice chat, its participants, and other audio management settings. You can also Report voice chat participants to Discord from your Xbox console.
- To join cross-network play > set this to Allow
- To communicate outside of Xbox with voice & text > set this to Everybody.
On Desktop Client
1. Make sure to follow the steps above in the How to Connect My Xbox Account from Discord section to properly connect your Discord and Xbox accounts.
2. Once you have connected your accounts, you must install the Xbox app from your mobile device’s app store.
If you don’t install the Xbox app, you will not be able to transfer Discord Voice to your Xbox console.
3. On your Discord desktop client, join your desired voice channel. Then press on the bottom left phone + game controller icon in the bottom left of the focused voice channel view. You may also right click on the voice channel name.
4. Select Transfer Voice to Xbox.
5. A QR code will appear in your client and you must scan the code on your mobile device. It is crucial that you download the Discord mobile app and the Xbox mobile app on your mobile device.
6. Follow the prompts on your Discord mobile app to complete the Discord voice transfer to Xbox.

Verify Your Privacy Settings via Xbox Website
1. Via the Xbox website, log in to your Microsoft account.
2. Once you’re logged in, go to Xbox Settings > Privacy Settings Management > Others Can.
3. While there, set the Others can see if you’re online option to “Anyone” to make progress on a Discord Quest.

3. Navigate to Parties & chats then select Discord from the menu.
4. Select the Discord server and then the server’s voice channel you want to stream to.
5. Once you’ve joined the voice channel, press on the Stream your game option in the dedicated Xbox menu for your Discord chat on console.
6. You can adjust your stream’s resolution and frame rate if you have a Nitro subscription on your Discord account. When you’re ready, press Start stream.
7. You are now streaming your Xbox gameplay to Discord! If you would like to stop streaming from Xbox, you can find the Stop streaming option and other livestream settings in the dedicated Parties & chats menu for your Discord chat on Xbox.
How to View your Discord Friend’s List on Your Xbox
If you’ve connected your Xbox account to Discord, you can opt-in to have your Discord friends displayed in the Xbox Guide Friends List. Your Discord friends will be displayed under Happening now, if they are playing a game or chatting in a Discord voice channel.
How to Watch a Stream on Your Xbox
You can now watch a stream on Discord through your Xbox console. Here’s how:
1. Open up your active call’s member list within the Xbox guide.
2. Select the profile of someone that is currently streaming and then tap on Watch Stream.
