Audio issues can be disruptive, especially when coordinating with your team, but with this simple tool, you can quickly verify your microphone's functionality before hopping into any important call or gaming session.
How to Use the Mic Test in Discord
1. Select the cogwheel icon [] in the lower-left corner of the app to access your User Settings.

2. Navigate to the Voice & Video tab and make sure you’re under the Voice section.
3. Under Mic Test tap on Let’s Check to begin testing your mic.

4. Your voice will be played back to you through the selected output device, allowing you to check if your microphone is working properly. Once you're finished with your test, tap on Stop Testing to stop the test.
Troubleshooting Steps
If Discord isn’t detecting your microphone, you may see an error message like the one below that says “Discord isn’t detecting any input from your mic. Please check that you’ve selected the right input device”. In that case, please check your input and output devices to ensure the correct ones are selected.
