Server Wide Channel Mute

The ability to toggle a channel so that notifications are automatically turned off for all users of that channel by default. This would be for things like the Poke bots and Dice bots, so they don't spam notifications when people are using them, or other low priority channels, and allow for better separation from announcement type channels without turning off notifications for the entire server.

    Up Voted! This is a great idea, as I use the Taco Shack bot, and I don't want everybody to be annoyed when I am using the gambling function. Please add this feature discord!!!!!!

    Yes please! Forcing users to individually mute/unmute channels sort of defeats the purpose of having separate channels in the first place...

    I'm giving my support for the implementation of this feature. Imagine setting up many new channels for different bots and also making roles for those individual private channels, and later adding users to them.

    I need mee6 to monitor my voice channel activities, however some users are annoyed by spam bot channel & leave my server. Like seriously there is no options for this particular basic tools?

    adzftw if you mean a logging channel for activities like (x joined voice, y left voice etc). You can make that channel only visible to certain roles (like admin or master role or only you as a user by making it private). But it is true that the bot commands channel which imo is good practice should be mutable. This type of channel is guaranteed to not be important to any user that joins and having them manually mute it is just inconvenient.

    Is this a thing yet? I have a manga and comic server and I know for artists it's troublesome to go and mute everything

    There is a way to mute all normal messages throughout all channels for all members. Go to server settings, overview, scroll down to the bottom to where it says default notification settings, and select only @mentions. This should make it so only @mentions will send notifications to members who haven’t set their own notification settings. A members personal notification setting will override it. Idk if anyone will see this as its 2yrs later.

    Nope. We want a feature where you can mute individual channels, not the entire server. Eg to only mute the bot channels.

    BckwrdsEvltion - The ability to mute "all normal messags" throughout all channels has been around for at least as long as I have been using Discord.

    As the function that we are actually asking for (the ability to mute a specific channel *for the user* [rather than having the user bombarded with messages from a bot channel and then muting the entire server, because that is what people do], either upon creation or at any other time) has still not been implemented *two years later*, yes, people will see your message. 

    Thank you for the information, though; it is unfortunate that it was not the information that we were looking for.
